Abstract

Densities of DL-2-aminobutiric acid in aqueous solutions of nitrate sodium were determined every 5 K at temperatures ranging from 283,15 to 318,15 K using an Anton Paar DMA 5000 vibrating tube densitometer. The apparent molar volume, the infinite dilution apparent molar volume, the second derivative of the infinite dilution partial molar volume with respect to temperature, the partial molar volume of transfer at infinite dilution, and the number of hydration were calculated. It was found that the values of the second derivative of the apparent molar volume limit with respect to temperature are negative at all concentrations of mixed solvent; This implies that the solute-solvent interactions are favored and that the DL2-aminobutiric acid acts as a disruptor of the structure of the solvent.
