STUDY OF THE CONTENT OF FATTY ACIDS AND ALKANES IN THE VEGETABLE SPECIES SANQUI (Corryocactus brevistylus subsp. puquiensis)
Abstract
In this work, the study of the incidence of fatty acids and alkanes in the spines, peel, pulp and seeds of the fruit of the sanqui (Corryocactus brevistylus subsp. puquiensis) has been carried out. For this, the hexane extracts of each part of the fruit were obtained, which were transesterified for subsequent analysis by the method of gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry. For the study of fatty acids, it was found that the majority were: arachidic and behenic acids in the spines, linoleic and palmitic acids in the peel and pulp, and linoleic and oleic acids in the seeds of the fruit. In the case of alkanes, the majority were: nonacosane and hentriacontane in the spines and peel, pentacosane and tricosane in the pulp. No alkanes were
identified in the seeds.
